Perfectly capturing the classic vintage beauty nestled in Spitalfields is Batty Langley’s Hotel.
Its interiors are warm and inviting. It also makes you feel as if you are staying in a well-crafted and luxurious private home.
The rooms are individually designed and features antique furnishings. It also has quirky bathrooms hidden behind a wall of bookcases.
Each room is equipped with genuine antiques and pictures, an Apple TV, and a minibar. Most bathrooms feature free-standing tubs while others have separate showers.
Since Batty Langley’s is an intimate hotel, the facilities are a little limited.
They have an honesty bar in the Tapestry room where you grab yourself a drink. Feel free to grab a beer or a cocktail of your choice. Just jot them down on the ledger.
Aside from this, the hotel features a small courtyard garden and a library filled with over 3,500 books.
Moreover, they also serve breakfast but is usually delivered to the guests’ bedroom. However, if the weather permits, they can also take it in the courtyard or the Tapestry Room to enjoy.
And what’s more exciting is that breakfast is fresh and available at any time of the day. You can have breakfast for dinner if you wish. You can also order treats and snacks 24 hrs a day.
And for meals, the room service offers smoked salmon with bread, risotto with porcini mushrooms and sage butter, or beef Bourguignon with potatoes and green beans.
Good to know: The hotel gives away a booklet that explains the history of the area and the name of each room. Also, there's a cocktail recipe book available at the Honesty Bar so you can experiment on what to drink. May it be a Fever-Tree tonic, a muddle of vodka or a DIY East London Spritz, you can do it.
