Monastero Santa Rosa Hotel & Spa feels almost unreal the first time you see it. Built into the cliffs above the Gulf of Salerno, this former 17th-century monastery has been transformed into one of the Amalfi Coast’s most remarkable luxury retreats. Yet, despite the luxury, the atmosphere remains deeply peaceful with quiet gardens, lemon trees, and soft sea air.

With only around 20 rooms, privacy becomes part of the experience. The original monastery architecture still shapes the property today. Vaulted ceilings, stone corridors, and antique details preserve its historic soul.

The infinity pool steals attention immediately. Suspended above the coastline, it blends directly into the horizon during sunset. The spa offers one of the most relaxing wellness experiences in southern Italy. And guests have access to a thermal circuit with a tepidarium, Turkish bath, whirlpool, and treatments using Santa Maria Novella products.

Interestingly, the hotel’s famous pastry, the Sfogliatella Santa Rosa, was originally created by the monastery’s nuns centuries ago. You can still enjoy it fresh at breakfast overlooking the sea.
